Renewable energy, in the form of heat, electricity and transport fuels, is derived from energy flows that occur naturally and repeatedly in the environment; from the wind, the fall of water, the movement of the oceans, from the sun and from biomass.
Rapid deployment of renewable energy technologies on a significant scale is now required to deal with the twin major challenges of climate change and resource depletion.  To achieve change on the magnitude required demands the active engagement of government, industry and communities.

There is no magic bullet, a mature renewable energy supply infrastructure will include a diverse mix of technologies, all will have their place.  In giving the community a leading role in renewable energy development TRESOC will ensure that local concerns are taken into account at every stage of project identification and development.   Denial of the problems posed by global warming and resource depletion is no longer an option.  As the Stern Report makes clear we must take action now, and we can make a very big difference by working together as a community.
